Outward Bound Urban Centers
Outward Bound Urban Centers provide students, educators and civic leaders opportunities to develop a better understanding of their capabilities and value to their communities. Using innovative programs, these centers present educational and skill-building alternatives for young people, encourage them to discover their inner strengths, and help them translate challenging life experiences into positive personal achievement.
Outward Bound Urban Centers, currently located in Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, and Philadelphia, teach leadership, craftsmanship and self-reliance, foster a greater understanding of community, and inspire continued commitment to the values of fitness, compassion, service, and care for the environment.
Urban Centers annually serve over 12,000 individuals – including students, teachers, school administrators, youth workers, and civic leaders. Urban and community programs weave Outward Bound’s core values into the fabric of communities through powerful partnerships with schools and school districts, local and regional youth service organizations, and business and civic leaders.
