Group Programs for Education & Youth Organizations
Working with schools, colleges, teams, clubs, camps and youth organizations, these programs concentrate on teambuilding and communication skills for groups that work together consistently and those who need to build trust and leadership within the team.
Scholarship support for most Group Programs for Education and Youth Organizations is awarded based on the financial need of individual students within the group. We also look actively for school partners who are able to match our scholarship funding to support groups of students.
Examples of our scholarship work with groups:
The Youth Leadership Corps program is a wilderness expedition that builds young leaders using service, community and diversity to expose students to conventional leadership styles and techniques. Participants return to their communities with a sense of responsibility for the development of the community and a greater good. Students are selected based on individual merit and receive full scholarship support to attend a two-week program. Networks of Outward Bound supporters in Maryland, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and Pennsylvania generate the funding awarded to Youth Leadership Corps students each year.

For more than 10 years Upward Bound at the University of Minnesota has strengthened their retention rate by providing 8-day wilderness programs to 10th grade students. Participants discover that the physical and mental challenges of the course relate directly to the challenges they experience in the 11th and 12th grades. Outward Bound provides scholarship support to Upward Bound to ensure that these students are able to participate in courses.
